The Central Consumer Protection Authority imposed a ₹1 lakh penalty on Hogar Technologies and Innovations LLP, according to a 25 October government release. The authority said walkie-talkie advertisements omitted important frequency and licensing information.
The company had cited its regulatory approvals and said its website was informational. CCPA said advertisers must still disclose material information before purchase. This was consumer-protection enforcement, rather than a criminal conviction.
