TRAI released its September 2026 telecom subscription report on 27 October. The regulator reported 1,367.93 million telephone subscriptions and 7.23 million net additions during September.
The figures count connections, not individual people, and include machine-to-machine connections where specified. The report also records 16.77 million mobile number portability requests during the month.
