India’s CBIC and the New Zealand Customs Service signed a cooperation arrangement on electronic origin-data exchange on 19 October, according to a Finance Ministry release dated 21 October.

The ministry said advance exchange of goods-origin information is intended to improve customs efficiency and reduce information gaps. The arrangement supports trade facilitation under the countries’ free-trade agreement; businesses should consult the relevant official rules for eligibility and procedures.
