The Home Ministry issued an update on 25 October about Operation Trident, an anti-narcotics operation carried out on 23 October. It said coordinated teams searched 38 locations across Assam, Mizoram and Manipur.
Authorities reported 18 arrests and the freezing of 1,424 bank accounts while investigating an alleged trafficking network. These are official investigative claims; arrests do not establish guilt. The operation itself predates this latest announcement.
