The National Human Rights Commission issued a women’s safety advisory to Union ministries, the Railway Board and state and Union Territory authorities on 27 October.
It covers eight areas, including policing, survivor support, infrastructure, awareness and cybercrime. NHRC asked authorities for action-taken reports within two months. The advisory recommends preventive measures; it is not a report of a newly committed individual crime.
